With a potential government shutdown looming in December 2024, many travelers are concerned about access to national parks, including the historic Pearl Harbor National Park. If you’re planning to visit during your Hawaii vacation, here’s what you need to know.

Pearl Harbor National Park, a site of immense historical significance where the events of December 7, 1941, forever changed American history, remains a must-visit destination for travelers. Daniel’s Hawaii reached out to a Pearl Harbor National Park official to clarify the situation. According to the official, the park has secured funds to remain open through the weekend. If the government shuts down, the earliest the park will close is Monday, December 23, 2024. This means visitors can still experience Pearl Harbor on December 20, 21, and 22.
For those planning a trip, it’s a good idea to schedule your Pearl Harbor visit during this window. To accommodate increased demand, Daniel’s Hawaii is adding additional seats to their popular Pearl Harbor Tour. Learn more and book your spot here: Pearl Harbor Tour with Daniel’s Hawaii.
