About Your Tour
As we made our way to Pearl Harbor, our expert guides provided a fascinating historical recounting of the events leading up to that infamous day in December 1941. Upon arriving at the Valor in the Pacific National Monument, we had the opportunity to explore a museum filled with historical artifacts, documents, and memorabilia.
One of the most impactful moments of the tour was watching a historic film featuring actual archive footage of the attack. This preparation set the tone as we boarded a United States Navy vessel for a ride across the bay to the Arizona Memorial. Standing above the sunken battleship, where 1,177 sailors made the ultimate sacrifice, I was struck by the magnitude of their bravery.
From this vantage point, I could see Pearl Harbor as those sailors did on that fateful morning, bearing witness to the names of the fallen engraved on the memorial. It was an insightful and unforgettable experience—one that is a must for anyone visiting the islands.
Historic Honolulu City Tour
Before we returned to Waikiki, we also visited the Punchbowl National Cemetery of the Pacific, a somber yet beautiful site dedicated to honoring those who served. The historic tour of Honolulu allowed us to explore significant buildings from the last Hawaiian monarchy, giving us a glimpse into Hawaii’s rich royal past.
The sites we visited included:
- Iolani Palace: The only royal palace in the United States, it’s a must-see for history buffs.
- Aliiolani Hale: The former royal government building, recognized from the Hawaii 5-0 series.
- Kawaiahao Church: A stunning example of Hawaiian architecture and history.
- King Kamehameha the Great Statue: A symbol of Hawaiian pride and heritage.
- Historic Missionary Houses: Offering insights into the lives of early Christian missionaries.
- Hawaii State Capitol Building: A striking example of modern architecture that’s worth a visit.
- What to Bring: Be sure to wear comfortable clothing and shoes, as there will be plenty of walking. Bring a hat, sunscreen, and your camera to capture the memorable sights.
- Accessibility: The tour is wheelchair accessible, but please let us know in advance if you have any specific needs.
- Duration: The entire experience lasts approximately 7 hours, including travel time from Kauai to Oahu.

- Food and Drink: Light refreshments will be available during the tour, but it’s a good idea to bring along snacks and water.
- Reservations: It’s recommended to book your tour in advance to secure your preferred time slot.
