A Day of History, Nature, and Culture: Pearl Harbor, Dole, and Polynesian Center Tour

About Your Tour

I’ll pick you up from your Waikiki hotel around 6am, and from there, we’ll start an adventure-packed day! First up is Pearl Harbor, a place where history truly comes to life. You’ll get a close look at the pivotal moments that changed the course of World War II. From the USS Arizona Memorial, you’ll pay respects to the 1,177 sailors who lost their lives during the tragic December 7, 1941 attack.

We’ll begin with a 23-minute documentary that recaps the harrowing events, setting the tone for the powerful experience ahead. Afterward, we’ll cross the harbor in a Navy vessel to the Arizona Memorial itself. Here, you can observe the “Black Tears of the Arizona”, the oil droplets still rising from the sunken battleship, and visit the Shrine Room, where the names of the fallen are inscribed in marble.

Before leaving Pearl Harbor, take some time to explore the WWII museums, including the “Road to War” and “Attack Galleries”, or stop by the bookshop for a special keepsake.

Next, we head to Dole Plantation, a fun and informative stop where you’ll learn about Hawaii’s fascinating pineapple-growing history. You’ll definitely want to try a famous Dole Whip, a frozen pineapple treat that’s sure to cool you down. While you’re there, pick up some unique pineapple-themed souvenirs!

As we continue toward the North Shore, we’ll pass by legendary surfing beaches like Waimea Bay and Sunset Beach. These spots are renowned for their huge winter waves, where world-class surfers show off their skills.

Finally, we arrive at the Polynesian Cultural Center, where you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a completely different world. This living museum brings to life the cultures of six Polynesian islands – Hawaii, Tahiti, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, and New Zealand. You’ll get to experience authentic Polynesian villages, each with their own unique traditions, dances, and activities. You’ll also enjoy a relaxing canoe ride from village to village and witness the colorful Polynesian Canoe Pageant.
